As well as running her own dance school from 2012 and merging with a local dance school. Passion for dancing and performing arts started when she attended her first Jazz class at the age of three. Since then she has gone on to achieve high grades in exams and many placing in local festivals, which granted her a chance to dance at Saddlers wells, London for the All England. She also has toured around the south with her dance company, performing for many secondary schools and colleges. Hayley is looking forward to what Studio Unique has to bring!

Teacher - Miss Ellie

I have been dancing since I was very young at my local dance school, completing my ISTD exams up to advanced 1 in Tap and Modern, and intermediate in Ballet. I then left when I was 18, to move to Chichester and gain a 1st class BA Hons degree in Musical Theatre Performance. During my training I was lucky enough to work with many talented choreographers and teachers, who inspired to go into performance and teaching.

Since then I have worked as Head Dance Coach for a residential summer camp for international children, as well as working for a local Musical Theatre Academy. I am currently completing my DDE qualifications, and can’t wait to start broadening my career as a dance teacher.”

Teacher - Miss Abbie Jennings

Abbie started dancing with a local dance school, Oakwood Academy of Dance, when she was only two and a half years old, studying Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) Imperial Ballet, Modern Theatre and Tap Dance and continued with the Academy until she had completed all of her major dance examinations. Abbie also attended the Urdang Academy in Covent Garden for two years from the ages of 11 to 13 on their Musical Theatre course where she performed in a revue show and also in the musical Godspell. To further her studies Abbie attended Chichester College after leaving school and studied a BTEC National Diploma in Dance and a BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Musical Theatre, passed with Distinction and Distinction*, alongside the ISTD Teaching Qualifications, Diploma in Dance Instruction (DDI) and Diploma in Dance Education (DDE). Abbie is a fully qualified and registered ISTD Dance Teacher in Imperial Ballet, Modern Theatre and Tap Dance and has been since 2011 and is also a qualified Fitsteps Instructor. In 2017 Abbie graduated from the Level 6 Diploma in Dance Pedagogy in which she specialised in Tap Dance. Abbie studied this degree course part-time in London alongside teaching full time in Hampshire. Abbie is the principal of AJ Dance and Fitness as well as a freelance teacher for multiple dance schools in Hampshire. During the day Abbie is an Associate Lecturer in Tap Dance and Ballet at the University of Chichester.

Teacher - Miss Lauren

Lauren trained at the Kim Ellen School of Dance in Fareham from a very young age, gaining her ISTD examinations up to Advanced 1 in Modern and Tap, and Intermediate in Ballet. At 18, Lauren left Kim Ellen and headed for London, to start her 3-year training course at the Urdang Academy. Whilst here, Lauren gained a 1st Class BA Honors in Musical Theatre and Professional Dance. As a child, Lauren trained in both dance and gymnastics, before discovering her passion for singing. Whilst in training, Lauren performed at the Wembley Arena as a backing vocalist for Leona Lewis during the X Factor Final. Lauren has previously worked as a lead vocalist for the German Cruise line Aida, and most recently as a lead vocalist for P&O Cruises on board the beautiful P&O Aurora. Whilst in training, Lauren’s passion for teaching began. She started teaching baby ballet as a Saturday job and decided she wanted to pursue this further, and since has taught at a variety of dance schools and plans to soon study for the DDE to continue her teaching education. Lauren is delighted to be joining the Studio Unique Team!
